Dibrugarh is buzzing with excitement as the Indian Armed Forces kick off a remarkable event—the longest bike rally named ‘Shaurya Yatra’. This incredible journey spans 3,900 kilometers, starting from Vijayanagar in Arunachal Pradesh and will wind its way to the Rann of Kutch in Gujarat. This rally embodies the spirit of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat,” which translates to “One India, Great India.”
The rally was officially launched by 90-year-old former rifleman Padam Singh Rawat, a proud veteran of the Assam Rifles. Alongside him were fellow veterans and brave military families known as veer naris. Together, they celebrated their shared commitment to the nation.
This rally isn’t just about the bike riders; it brings together members from the Assam Rifles and the Indian Army, along with four civilian riders from Arunachal Pradesh. This diverse group showcases the unity of different communities across India. As they travel through various states, they will not only connect with locals but also share inspiring stories of courage and determination.
During the flag-off ceremony, participants had heartfelt conversations with former servicemen and veer naris, honoring the sacrifices made for the country. The event also shone a light on the ‘Bharat ke Veer’ initiative, which provides vital support to the families of fallen soldiers.
The riders are expected to reach Gujarat in about three weeks. Along their route, they will make stops at various historical sites and military installations, enriching their journey with experiences that celebrate India’s rich heritage.
