GILLETTE, Wyo. — The Wyoming Department of Agriculture’s Consumer Health Services Division inspects food establishments throughout the state, especially in areas without local health departments. The goal is to keep Wyoming residents safe by ensuring food safety standards are met.

In Campbell County, the Department of Agriculture checks restaurants at least once a year. All inspection reports are public and can be found on their website, covering only routine inspections.
Establishments are evaluated for compliance with food safety regulations. Violations can range from non-critical issues to serious ones that could lead to foodborne illnesses. The Department emphasizes education, aiming to help businesses understand and correct unsafe practices.
Even a single violation can mean a business is out of compliance, but not all errors signify danger. Inspections serve as a “snapshot” of safety practices. Often, businesses fix violations as soon as inspectors point them out. Depending on the severity, they have 10 to 45 days to resolve any issues.
Notable violations will be summarized, but full reports for each restaurant are available on the WDA website.
