Syracuse, NY – Peter Corasaniti, a Syracuse alumnus, has stepped into an exciting role as the associate athletics director for men’s basketball and operations at Syracuse University.
Corasaniti spent the past seven years as director of men’s basketball operations. In the 2025-26 season, he also took on assistant coaching duties. Now, in his new position, he’ll oversee all administrative and operational functions for the program.
His job includes mentoring the program staff, such as the directors of basketball operations, player personnel, and alumni engagement. Corasaniti aims to ensure compliance with NCAA regulations and will work closely with the head coach to shape the team’s future.
Peter’s journey started during his undergraduate years at Syracuse, where he was a student manager for four years while studying sports management. After graduating in 2014, he became a graduate assistant and earned a master’s degree in new media management in 2016.
Corasaniti’s coaching career began at Binghamton, where he managed daily operations and helped with recruiting. He returned to Syracuse in 2019 as the director of operations under Hall of Fame Coach Jim Boeheim. When Boeheim retired, Corasaniti stayed on as the program evolved under Adrian Autry.
In addition to his operational role, he also coordinated team travel, developed the game’s annual schedule, and facilitated community relations, showing his deep commitment to the Syracuse basketball program.
Corasaniti is a Syracuse native and attended Christian Brothers Academy for high school basketball. He lives in Syracuse with his wife, Ashley, and their two daughters, Reese and Scottie.
This transition highlights a growing trend in college athletics, where leadership roles increasingly blend operations and coaching. According to a recent NCAA report, nearly 30% of college basketball programs are adopting similar structures, focusing on streamlined management and close collaboration between coaching staff and administrative roles.
