Joey Arbagey has joined 19 Entertainment, part of Sony Pictures Television, as executive vice president of music.
Previously at Epic Records for ten years, Arbagey will now focus on overseeing the music related to “American Idol.” His role includes managing 19 Recordings, 19 Publishing, and 19 Management, along with partnerships, notably with BMG. He will work closely with Eli Holzman and Rachel Dax in this new position.
Holzman and Dax expressed their excitement in a joint statement, highlighting Arbagey’s extensive experience and creativity, which they believe will enhance their music division’s evolution.
Arbagey shared his enthusiasm: “I’m thrilled to join Eli, Aaron, and Rachel at 19 Entertainment. They have an incredible roster and I am eager to contribute to the next chapter of our success.”
During his time at Epic Records, he led creative campaigns for stars like Camila Cabello and Mariah Carey.
In other news, Mom+Pop Music has partnered with Thaddeus Rudd and Michael Goldstone to create Pipes Music. This agency aims to support artists—both signed and unsigned—with content creation and social media strategies. Goldstone described Pipes as unique, aiming to simplify the often complex processes artists face today.
Rudd emphasized the need for flexibility in supporting artists in today’s music landscape, stressing that the focus is no longer just on singles and tours but on holistic artist support.
Sullivan Brock will lead the creative efforts at Pipes, while Emily Ferrell, coming from Creed Agency, will manage user-generated content campaigns.
Warner Music Hong Kong has appointed Robin Ch’i as managing director. He succeeds Gordon Lee, who is retiring after two decades. Ch’i brings 15 years of experience from Warner Music Group and has a strong background in A&R.
Ch’i’s immediate focus will be on maintaining Warner Music’s strong presence in the APAC region.
