Exciting Track & Field Action Returns to Gainesville: Join Us for the RADD Sports Invitational at Bethune-Cookman University!

Get ready, sport fans! The Bethune-Cookman Track & Field team is gearing up for the RADD Sports Invitational in Gainesville, Florida. The competition kicks off at 7:00 a.m. on January 24th and runs until January 25th at the Alachua Sports Complex.

Last year, the Wildcats made an impressive showing, with junior Tyler Washington winning first place in shot put and several others landing in the top ten. Fans can follow the action and keep track of the results through live stats available here or here.

The meet will follow NCAA rules, with no age adaptations. Only designated Masters events will be open to Masters athletes. Most running events will be conducted as heats against time, except for the 60m and 60m hurdles. The best-seeded heats will go first. In field events, the top 9 qualifiers in jumps and throws will advance to finals.

The venue boasts top-notch facilities. The Jimmy Carnes Track is a 200m banked track with six lanes, plus eight lanes of Mondo on the sprint runway. It has dedicated areas for jumps and throws, including warmup lanes for athletes. It’s a great space for showcasing speed and skill.

In their last meet, the Wildcats competed at the Jimmy Carnes Invitational, where fifteen athletes finished in the top ten of their events. The team continues to build momentum for this upcoming competition.
