Exciting Update: Jordan Harmon Appointed Interim Director of Athletics at Austin Peay State University!

Jordan Harmon, a proud two-time graduate of Austin Peay State University and former baseball player, is stepping into the role of Interim Director of Athletics. This announcement came from President Dr. Michael Licari, who expressed his excitement about Harmon’s appointment.

“Jordan understands what it means to be a part of Austin Peay athletics,” Licari said. “His drive for excellence makes him a perfect fit to maintain our positive momentum.”

Harmon started his journey at Austin Peay in 2017, focusing on fundraising for athletics. He quickly climbed the ranks, becoming the assistant director of athletics for development in early 2020. By March 2021, he joined the athletics department full-time as the senior associate director for revenue generation and brand advancement. After a brief departure, he returned as the chief revenue officer and deputy director of athletics.

In 2025, he took on another role as the general manager for APSU Athletics. His leadership experience is broad, giving him a unique insight into the needs of the university’s sports programs.

Harmon expressed his gratitude for those who’ve guided him, particularly former athletics director Gerald Harrison, who he credits for elevating APSU Athletics. “My wife and I love this community, and we’re excited to help our student-athletes thrive,” he shared.

Harmon will serve in this interim role while the university seeks a permanent director, with plans to finalize the search by February 2026. For this, they’ll be working with the trusted CSA Search Consulting firm, ensuring a thorough and comprehensive selection process.
