If you love movies, there’s something exciting happening in Boulder, Colorado. A new experience called **Live Movie Review** is here, and it’s going to change how you enjoy films.
This isn’t your typical movie night. Forget about sitting quietly in your seat. This event invites you to be lively and join in on the fun! Think back to the good old days when people would have a blast watching “Rocky Horror Picture Show.” It’s all about getting involved.
At **Live Movie Review**, you’ll be part of the action. No need to keep quiet here! Just a heads-up: it’s best to watch the chosen movie beforehand so you can enjoy the experience even more.
So how does it work? When the movie starts, it will pause for discussions and live performances of select scenes. You’ll get a chance to act out parts, and you can even suggest scenes you want to reenact.
This format is similar to **Mystery Science Theater 3000 (MST3K)**, a favorite from the late ’80s and ’90s, where characters would poke fun at movies. Expect laughter and playful interaction throughout the film.
The events take place at the Boulder Public Library in the **Canyon Theater**. This venue has a cozy stage and a screen, with seating for just under 200 guests, making it feel like a special gathering.
Getting there is easy. Enter through the main entrance, and the Canyon Theater is located in the north wing of the library.
Tickets are just $10, and you can bring your snacks and drinks—but no alcohol allowed.
Upcoming films getting the Live Movie Review treatment include:
- February 1, 2025: Licorice Pizza
- March 1, 2025: The Fisher King
- March 29, 2025: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
- April 3, 2025: Birdman
- May 29, 2025: Days of Heaven
- June 7, 2025: Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves
- June 14, 2025: Before Sunset
Each night kicks off with a 20-30 minute “open mic” session for comedy, improv, dance, and more. It’s all about having fun and creating memories with fellow movie lovers.
