Smart glasses are turning heads at CES 2026. TCL is joining the competition with its new RayNeo Air 4 Pro. While TCL has been around in the AR space, it hasn’t made as much noise as brands like Meta and Xreal. That could soon change with this new release.
Set to launch on January 25 for $299, the RayNeo Air 4 Pro is priced lower than many competing AR glasses. It’s being touted as the world’s first HDR10-enabled AR glasses, which is quite a claim.
These glasses work like other AR devices. They need to connect to a smartphone or laptop via USB-C. This setup allows you to project a virtual screen anywhere you are, creating the experience of having an extra screen on the go.
During a recent demo, I was impressed with their display. The Micro-OLED screen was vibrant and clear. In contrast, I’ve been using the Xreal One Pro AR glasses, which often look dull. The RayNeo was almost too bright, making colors pop in a way that was hard to ignore.
Besides the impressive display, these glasses come equipped with Bang & Olufsen speakers and AI 3D video conversion. Unfortunately, I couldn’t test those features yet.

But that’s not all. TCL also introduced the RayNeo X3 Pro, which features built-in eSIM capabilities. This design means it can operate without being tethered to a smartphone or laptop. While it sounds convenient, it’s also significantly more expensive, with a price tag of $1,299.
The shift to untethered AR glasses may appeal to many users. It opens up possibilities for how we use augmented reality while looking stylish at the same time.
In today’s tech landscape, smart glasses are more than just gadgets; they’re merging innovation with everyday utility. With TCL stepping up its game, we might just see a shift in how AR devices become part of our daily lives.
