Vadodara recently hosted a two-day seminar focused on ‘technology in armament and optronics’ at the Electronics and Mechanical Engineering (EME) school.
The event took place on February 13 and 14 and brought together experts from various sectors, including the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), military officials, manufacturers, and academics.
This seminar aimed to develop strategies for innovative solutions. It also allowed EME School to explore advancements in high-tech weapon systems, small arms, SWIR technology for optronics, and space imaging sensors. These technologies are vital for future military operations.
The event kicked off with opening remarks from Lieutenant General Neeraj Varshney, the Commandant of the Military College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering. Lieutenant General Devendra Sharma delivered the keynote speech, emphasizing the importance of cutting-edge technology in military training.
Lieutenant General Vineet Gaur provided a plenary address, and 18 distinguished speakers shared insights on global trends in armament and optronics.
The seminar was live-streamed to various Indian Army training centers, aiming to inspire the next generation of military leaders. They will play a crucial role in adopting new technologies for modern warfare and contribute to India’s vision for 2047.
