Front Row Filmed Entertainment has secured the rights to distribute the Oscar-winning documentary No Other Land in the Middle East and North Africa. This deal was finalized through discussions between Elie Touma from Front Row and Stephanie Fuchs of Autlook Filmsales.

Directed by Basel Adra, a Palestinian activist, and Yuval Abraham, an Israeli journalist, No Other Land tells the story of Adra as he explores the devastation of his hometown, which is now used for military training. With Abraham’s help, Adra’s mission to raise awareness has gained significant traction.
This powerful documentary premiered at the 2023 Berlinale, where it received the Panorama Audience Award and the Berlinale Documentary Award. Since then, it has won an impressive 68 awards at various film festivals, including recognition from the Boston Society of Film Critics and the European Film Awards. Notably, it won the best documentary feature award at the 2025 Oscars, marking the first time a film achieved this without support from a domestic distribution company.
Despite facing hurdles in securing a U.S. distributor, the filmmakers took a self-distribution route with Cinetic Media’s assistance to manage theatrical bookings. The film debuted on February 2 on a single screen, earning $26,000 and later expanding its reach to 120 screens, grossing over $1.2 million.
Earlier this year, Front Row also released its second Netflix original, The Sand Castle, which became a top 10 hit in over 77 countries for two weeks. The company has a reputation for supporting notable films, such as The Substance and Emilia Pérez, as well as politically charged narratives like 20 Days in Mariupol and Nadine Labaki’s Where Do We Go Now.
Gianluca Chakra, CEO of Front Row, emphasized the importance of sharing diverse stories. He stated, “In a world filled with dominant narratives, it is essential to consider diverse viewpoints. The footage presented is both striking and unparalleled. We have a duty to make sure it reaches audiences.”
Front Row plans to release No Other Land in select cinemas soon, followed by a video-on-demand rollout across the MENA region.
Recent statistics indicate an increasing interest in documentaries that address social issues. According to a 2023 survey by the Pew Research Center, nearly 62% of viewers prefer documentaries that inspire social change. Films like No Other Land resonate with audiences seeking deeper understanding of complex issues.
