Kansas men’s basketball freshmen Davion Adkins and Taylen Kinney are set to join the 2026 USA Basketball Men’s U18 National Team training camp. This event will take place at the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado, starting on May 21.
The camp is a crucial step before the 12-member team heads to the 2026 FIBA U18 Men’s AmeriCup from June 1-7 in León, Mexico.
Adkins, standing at 6-foot-9 with an impressive 7-foot-2 wingspan, played for Prolific Prep in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. His team ended the season with a stellar 38-4 record. Hailing from Arlington, Texas, he was regarded as the top high school player in Texas before joining Prolific Prep.
Kinney, at 6-foot-2, is a highlighted 2026 McDonald’s All-American. He played for RWE in the Overtime Elite program in Atlanta, averaging 18.8 points, 6.1 assists, and 4.8 rebounds last season.
Both athletes are no strangers to USA Basketball, having attended minicamps for the USA Men’s Junior National Team in 2024 and 2025. Kinney also participated in a camp for the USA Men’s U19 National Team in 2025.
The training camp will be guided by head coach Anthony Grant from Dayton, alongside assistant coaches Matt Langel from Colgate and Nate Oats from Alabama.
