Starting July 1, 2026, BriarPatch Food Co-op will accept applications for its Round Up at the Register program. Each month, two local nonprofits will benefit from the program—one from each store—until applications close on August 29 at 4 PM.
To be eligible, organizations must be registered as 501(c)(3) nonprofits. They should show how they improve community life and share BriarPatch’s values. Since 2015, the program has helped raise over $350,000 for such causes, highlighting the co-op’s commitment to community support.
In 2025, priority will be given to applicants who didn’t receive funds previously. This commitment to fairness means more local groups can get the support they need. Community fundraising efforts like this are crucial, especially given that nonprofit funding has been tougher recently due to economic pressures. For instance, a recent study showed that many nonprofits are facing increased demand for services without matching funding increases.

Organizations can apply online for the chance to participate in this beneficial program. For any questions or more details, they can reach out to BriarPatch at community@briarpatch.coop or call (530) 272-2667 x145.
