Google recently launched the NotebookLM app for both Android and iOS, expanding access beyond its desktop version that started in 2023. This development comes just before the Google I/O 2025 event.
NotebookLM aims to simplify understanding complex topics. It offers smart summaries and lets users ask questions about their documents. Key features include AI-generated podcasts called Audio Overviews, which allow for background playback and offline listening. Users can also create new notebooks and easily add content from websites, PDFs, or YouTube videos directly to their notebooks.
The app adapts to user preferences with light and dark mode, matching the device settings.
Since its inception, the use of AI in note-taking has gained traction. According to a recent survey, 65% of users find AI tools help them learn better. Experts believe that tools like NotebookLM could significantly change how we study and gather knowledge.
As NotebookLM continues to evolve, it’s likely that we’ll see even more features that harness the power of AI to boost productivity and enhance learning experiences. Keep an eye out for any updates during the upcoming Google I/O keynote!
