Turki Al Alshaikh, the chairman of GEA, shared this news on social media, mentioning a desire to give the anthem a new sound with various musical instruments.

One idea on the table is for Zimmer to compose an original piece called Arabia. This composition would draw inspiration from Saudi Arabia’s rich culture and heritage, aiming to celebrate the Kingdom on a global stage.

The discussions also included plans for a major concert during Riyadh Season. This event could showcase innovative musical concepts. Zimmer is also interested in scoring a historical film titled The Battle of Yarmouk, a story about the legendary warrior Khalid bin Al-Walid. Al Alshaikh expressed hope that they could finalize these agreements soon. He noted Zimmer’s appreciation for Saudi culture and his excitement to return to the country with his family to explore its heritage.

Hans Zimmer, born in 1957 in Frankfurt, Germany, is a significant figure in film music. He has composed scores for over 150 films and has won numerous awards, including Oscars and Grammys.
