Heartfelt Tribute: Sarah Michelle Gellar Expresses Eternal Love for Buffy Sister Michelle Trachtenberg with ‘I Will Live… For You’

Sarah Michelle Gellar is honoring her “Buffy” co-star, Michelle Trachtenberg, who sadly passed away on February 26 at the age of 39. Trachtenberg, who began acting when she was just three years old, was found unresponsive in her New York City apartment. The cause of her death is not yet known.

On Instagram, Gellar shared her heartfelt thoughts: “Michelle, listen to me. I love you. I will always love you. The hardest thing in this world is to live in it. I will be brave. I will live… for you.” She also posted a gallery of their moments together from “Buffy.”

Trachtenberg became well-known for her role as Dawn Summers, Buffy’s sister, starting in Season 5 of the series in 2000. She was a key part of the show, appearing in 66 episodes until its conclusion in 2003.

Michelle began her journey in acting with commercials and made her TV debut in 1991 on “Law & Order.” She gained recognition on Nickelodeon’s “The Adventures of Pete & Pete.” Her first film role was in “Harriet the Spy” in 1996, where she played the leading character.

Throughout the early 2000s, Trachtenberg starred in a variety of films, including “Inspector Gadget,” “EuroTrip,” and “17 Again.” In 2008, she joined the hit series “Gossip Girl” as Georgina Sparks, a character she played for 28 episodes and returned to in the 2022 spinoff.
