BEDFORD, N.H. — Eugene Mirman, a popular voice actor known for his role in “Bob’s Burgers,” has been seriously injured in a car crash at a toll plaza. His vehicle caught fire after the collision, but thanks to quick actions from a state trooper and bystanders, he was rescued from the burning wreckage.
The accident occurred just before noon when Mirman’s electric vehicle struck the Bedford Toll Plaza. Republican Governor Kelly Ayotte and her security team were nearby and rushed to the scene. A trooper and two bystanders pulled Mirman through a window, while Ayotte retrieved a fire extinguisher. Fortunately, she was not in any danger.
Mirman’s agent, Jay Glassner, confirmed that he is recovering and expressed gratitude to those who helped him. “Eugene was in a very scary car accident,” he said. “He appreciates the state police, first responders, and hospital staff for their support and asks for privacy as he heals.”
State Police Colonel Mark Hall praised the rescuers’ bravery. “They put themselves in harm’s way to help someone in need,” he said.
Mirman, 51, who voices Gene Belcher on “Bob’s Burgers,” is originally from Moscow but grew up in Massachusetts. He is also known for his roles in “Flight of the Conchords” and “Archer.”
In response to the incident, Governor Ayotte shared her prayers for Mirman’s recovery and thanked the heroics of those who assisted at the scene. The crash is still under investigation, and no charges have been filed.
