High Point University’s Men’s Soccer Team Achieves Academic Excellence
The men’s soccer team at High Point University (HPU) has proudly secured the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2024-25 academic year. This marks the team’s 15th time receiving this honor and continues a six-year streak under Head Coach Zach Haines.
Coach Haines expressed his pride, stating, “Each year we’ve maintained high academic standards. Since I joined HPU in 2019, our players have aimed beyond a 3.0 GPA. They strive to be the top men’s program in our department, and we have amazing support.”
This year, 283 men’s soccer programs earned the Team Academic Award by achieving a team GPA of 3.0 or higher. Notably, 151 institutions received this recognition for both their men’s and women’s teams.
In context, maintaining academic excellence among student-athletes is increasingly vital. Recent studies show that students with higher GPAs tend to perform better in their future careers, making achievements like these crucial in balancing athletics and education.
HPU’s commitment to academic success in sports is impressive. The university has consistently earned this award over the years, showing that dedication on the field mirrors hard work in the classroom.
