TUCSON, Ariz. — Hot Dogs 501 is making waves in Tucson’s food scene. What started as a small cart in 2024 has transformed into a bustling restaurant. The Nolasco family, led by owner Luis Nolasco and his wife, Sinthya, have brought their family recipes to life.

Luis reflects on their journey. “I grew up in a family of restaurant owners. My wife inspired me to share our hot dog recipes. From there, we got our food truck and eventually opened our own place,” he says. Their hard work is evident as they serve up delicious Sonoran Dogs all over the city.

With their new restaurant on N. Main Ave and Speedway, it’s been a busy time for the Nolascos. Winning the Sonoran Dog Showdown was a highlight for them. “It felt amazing. We immediately saw more customers coming in,” Luis recalls.

Customer feedback has been positive. Tyler and Tiffany, who tried the hot dogs at the showdown, were impressed. “They stood out. These dogs were made with love,” Tyler shares. Tiffany adds, “You can taste the quality.”

Luis acknowledges that getting here hasn’t been easy. “It’s been an uphill battle. But now, it’s starting to pay off,” he says.
