New Delhi: A virtual meeting of the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) bloc took place recently, with 24 members discussing crucial issues for the upcoming Monsoon Session of Parliament.
Key figures attended, such as Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge and Sonia Gandhi, along with Rahul Gandhi, Sharad Pawar from NCP, and others. They all expressed serious concerns about national security under the current government.
Pramod Tiwari, a senior Congress leader, highlighted the ongoing worries surrounding the unresolved Pahalgam terror attack. Nearly three months after the incident, the attackers remain at large, raising questions about the government’s effectiveness in safeguarding citizens.
The leaders also criticized former President Donald Trump for repeatedly claiming he brokered a ceasefire between India and Pakistan. Despite Trump making this assertion 24 times, Prime Minister Modi has stayed silent.
In addition, Tiwari pointed out alarming reports of potential voter manipulation in Bihar. He claimed this is part of an effort to alter voter rolls based on the ruling party’s preferences.
The bloc members also reviewed India’s foreign policy concerning Pakistan, China, and Gaza, emphasizing that Prime Minister Modi should address these issues directly during debates.
Other important topics included the need for fair treatment of marginalized groups and regional concerns, which will be brought up in the session. Tiwari noted that future physical meetings are planned to continue discussions.
The atmosphere of the meeting was described as open and constructive, allowing leaders from various parties like the DMK, TMC, and others to voice their opinions freely.
This gathering showcases a critical moment in Indian politics, reflecting a collective demand for accountability and transparency from the government. Such discussions are essential to address the evolving challenges within the country, influencing both policy and public perception.
