The goal was ruled out because of a foul committed by Pablo against Arsenal’s goalkeeper, David Raya.
During their discussion, Webb stated, “Was it a foul on the goalkeeper? Absolutely. We’ve made it clear this season that if a goalkeeper is hindered by an opponent, especially in a way that affects their ability to perform, a foul will be called.”
Webb explained that when the VAR reviewed the footage, it became evident that Pablo was interfering with Raya’s arms, preventing him from catching the ball. Although the on-pitch referee couldn’t clearly see the foul due to the crowd of players, the VAR stepped in to correct the oversight.
