International Food Solutions Acquires Food With Care: What This Means for the Future of Sustainable Dining

International Food Solutions (IFS) recently announced its acquisition of Food With Care, a Florida-based service that delivers meals to seniors at home. While the financial details remain private, this deal is set to boost IFS’s presence in the healthcare and senior nutrition sectors, which are becoming increasingly important as the population ages.

Founded nearly 30 years ago by John Glancey, Food With Care specializes in providing “dietitian-backed” meals tailored for older adults. The existing team will stay on board, ensuring a smooth transition and continued high standards for their clients in Florida.

According to Jonathan Dickl, the president of Food With Care, the company was in search of a partner that shared its foundational values, emphasizing servant leadership and a commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of both employees and clients.

The acquisition aims not only to improve services in Florida but also to expand IFS’s reach across the country. Both companies share a vision of providing high-quality, culturally inclusive meals that cater to the needs of diverse communities. This focus is particularly relevant given that, according to the U.S. Census Bureau, seniors will represent nearly 20% of the U.S. population by 2030.

Lincoln Yee, co-president of IFS, expressed optimism about the deal, calling it an “exciting new chapter.” He noted that this acquisition enables IFS to offer more convenient meal options for various life stages, without compromising on quality or care.

Founded in 2008, IFS produces a wide range of pre-made ethnic meals that span several cuisines, including Asian, Indian, Latin, and Mediterranean. Its products are supplied to various institutional clients such as schools, long-term care facilities, hospitals, and even U.S. military bases.

To support its growth, IFS recently invested $65 million in a massive 120,000-square-foot production facility in Cleveland, which will help meet increasing demand for meal delivery services. As meal delivery becomes more popular—especially post-pandemic—this strategic move places IFS in a strong position to capture new markets and respond to evolving consumer needs.

With this acquisition, IFS is not just expanding its business but also reinforcing its commitment to quality and community care, which is crucial in today’s rapidly changing food service landscape.
