Isabela Ferrer Accuses Justin Baldoni of Harassment Over Subpoena in Blake Lively Lawsuit: What You Need to Know

Isabela Ferrer caught the spotlight playing Young Lily in “It Ends With Us,” sharing the screen with Blake Lively. However, just a year into her career, she’s caught in a serious legal struggle between Lively and director Justin Baldoni.

Recently, Ferrer’s lawyer claimed that Baldoni is “harassing” her, using his influence to twist her response to Lively’s subpoena. Ferrer wants nothing to do with this dispute.

Lively is suing Baldoni, claiming sexual harassment and accusing him of a secret campaign to tarnish her image after she voiced her concerns. One serious allegation includes Baldoni adding a controversial scene to the film, implying inappropriately that it was “hot” after filming it.

Baldoni’s lawyers have countered by showcasing text messages from Ferrer praising him. They suggest she began distancing herself from Baldoni as the tension with Lively escalated.

In February, Lively’s legal team subpoenaed Ferrer for any communication related to the case. This forced her to hire a lawyer and seek assurance that Baldoni’s production company would cover her legal expenses. This request sparked a lengthy dispute. Ferrer’s lawyer, Sanford Michelman, accused Baldoni’s team of trying to influence her legal representation in exchange for financial support. He even noted that they cited a questionable legal case, potentially fabricated.

While discussions for a resolution were underway, Baldoni’s team tried to serve Ferrer with a subpoena through Michelman, who refused. Now they want a judge’s approval for “alternative service,” which Michelman contests, stating that they haven’t proven Ferrer is avoiding them.

Ferrer’s team believes Baldoni is acting aggressively, attempting to intimidate her. Michelman emphasized that Ferrer will fulfill her legal obligations but won’t be bullied.

With the legal battle heating up, Ferrer has asked the court to reject Baldoni’s motion entirely, insisting on appropriate penalties against him. Meanwhile, Baldoni’s team has not commented on the situation.

As the trial approaches in March, this case highlights the complexities and pressures within the film industry, especially for rising stars like Ferrer. In 2022, a survey revealed that nearly 60% of actors feel uncomfortable speaking up about harassment due to fear of backlash. This ongoing situation demonstrates the challenges many face when navigating Hollywood’s often tough terrain.
