The Scranton Greek Food Festival is back and better than ever! Hosted at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, this festival is a celebration of delicious Greek cuisine. From mouthwatering appetizers to hearty entrees and delightful desserts, there’s something for everyone.
You can start with tasty appetizers like Spanakopita, Tyropita, and Dolmades. For the main course, enjoy dishes like gyros, Pastitsio, and lamb shank. Don’t forget to save room for dessert! Options include Baklava and Galaktoboureko, perfect for satisfying your sweet tooth.
Festival coordinator Alex Molfetas shared some exciting insights. He emphasized that this festival has been a cherished tradition for over 50 years. “As soon as you walk in, the aroma of our dishes hits you. It’s a wonderful experience,” he said. With great weather expected, it seems like the perfect time to enjoy the festival.
It’s worth noting that all proceeds from the festival help support the church and its community efforts. Molfetas also advised visitors to come early, as the food is first-come, first-served and can run out fast.
The festival runs daily from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 505 N. Washington Ave, and you can order food in person or online. For takeout, simply call ahead to reserve your meal.
