Join the Excitement: SpartanNash’s Food Solutions Expo Welcomes Thousands of Attendees!

SpartanNash recently hosted its annual Food Solutions Expo in Grand Rapids, drawing nearly 2,000 grocery industry leaders. This two-day event was all about sharing insights, spotting trends, and building connections. Independent retailers and suppliers gathered to exchange ideas, sample new products, and grab some great deals.

One highlight was the showcase of 2025 Consumer Taste Trends. The displays featured forecasts and insights on what tastes will dominate the market. The expo wrapped up on a generous note too, with leftover products donated to Feeding America® West Michigan, providing around 45,000 meals to local families.

According to the National Grocers Association, independent grocers account for 33% of the retail grocery market, amounting to $253.6 billion in sales each year. They play a crucial role in the economy, contributing to 1.2% of the U.S. GDP. SpartanNash supports over 2,100 retail locations, giving them tools to stay fresh and community-focused.

Tony Sarsam, SpartanNash’s CEO, shared that independent grocers bring unique perspectives to the industry. He emphasized that the expo offers valuable strategies for attendees, helping them turn opportunities into success stories.

During the Expo, SpartanNash recognized outstanding customers and vendors with the Vision and Impact Awards.

The recipients included:

  • Impact Award Winners:

    • Johnsonville®
    • Ferrara Candy Company®
    • Sunkist®
    • Campbell’s®

Overall, the Food Solutions Expo is more than just a gathering; it’s a celebration of community, innovation, and collaboration in the grocery sector.
