Join the Fun: Little Rock NAACP Celebrates Community with Free Food, Games, and Literacy Activities!

Get ready for a fun day this Saturday at Watson Elementary School! The Little Rock NAACP is throwing its second annual "Spring into Summer" community bash to celebrate the end of the school year.

Marie Hollowell, President of the Little Rock NAACP, shared, "You can expect a lot." The event includes free manicures for girls, haircuts for boys, and health screenings for everyone. There will also be plenty of games to enjoy.

Don’t miss out on the delicious barbecue and fish fry provided by the Little Rock Sigmas. Hollowell highlighted, "Free food for all. It’s a great family event, and we hope the whole community comes out to support."

A key focus of this year’s bash is promoting literacy, especially for students moving from third to fourth grade. Inspired by the Learns Act, Hollowell explained, "We wanted to encourage kids to read during the summer."

The event runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 7000 Volley Street.
