In parallel, the Embassy of India in Washington, D.C. also hosted the Viksit Bharat Run 2025 in Maryland, part of a global initiative called Seva Pakhwada, running from September 17 to October 2. This campaign took place in over 150 locations worldwide and included not just runs, but also tree-planting activities, like the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign.
Interestingly, events like these are showing a growing trend. According to a recent survey by the Pew Research Center, 77% of Indian-Americans feel a strong connection to their cultural roots, further reinforcing the importance of these community events.
