Syracuse University is hosting an exciting event on November 7 to celebrate veteran writers. This discussion, part of the Syracuse Symposium on “Creativity,” features authors awarded for their literary contributions. The panel includes Robin Caudell, who will share a preview of her memoir, “Black Heel Strings: A Choptank Memoir,” and other talented writers like Dewaine Farria and Brian O’Hare.

Caudell, a former Air Force member and award-winning journalist, is passionate about using her experiences to tell important stories. Recently, she revealed that writing helped her process the complex emotions from her service. “Writing brings clarity,” she says. This sentiment echoes a recent survey showing that 75% of veterans believe writing can help heal from traumas.
