‘Jurassic World Rebirth’ Dominates Box Office with $25.3 Million Debut on Thursday!

Dinosaurs are back in the spotlight as “Jurassic World Rebirth” takes center stage this Fourth of July weekend. On its second full day, the film grossed $25.3 million, bringing its domestic total to $55.8 million. Experts predict it could earn around $137.5 million in its first five days, making it one of summer’s bigger hits.

However, the numbers don’t quite match the franchise’s earlier blockbuster debuts. For instance, 2015’s “Jurassic World” opened to a staggering $208 million. Other sequels also performed better during their initial releases: “Fallen Kingdom” raked in $148 million, while “Dominion” brought in $145 million.

This latest movie stars Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, and Jonathan Bailey, who face off against terrifying prehistoric creatures while on a quest for biomaterial to create a groundbreaking drug. It’s an action-packed adventure—just what audiences expect from this franchise.

Directed by Gareth Edwards, known for “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” and written by David Koepp, who penned the original “Jurassic Park,” the film had a budget of $180 million, excluding marketing costs. This is less than “Dominion,” which cost over $250 million. Universal is hoping to reignite interest in the series, which has been around for 32 years.

In addition to “Jurassic World Rebirth,” the main competition this weekend comes from Apple Original Films’ “F1,” which recently made $6.1 million, bringing its total to $83.5 million. “How to Train Your Dragon,” another Universal release, earned $2.8 million to reach $213 million.

Interestingly, recent data suggests that franchise films dominate box office sales, making up more than 70% of earnings in recent years. Social media trends show audiences are actively discussing the latest “Jurassic” entry, with many sharing their excitement and speculating about future installments.
