Kalyani Teams Up with Compal to Innovate Server Manufacturing in India

Kalyani Powertrain Ltd (KPTLP), a subsidiary of Bharat Forge, has teamed up with Compal Electronics from South Korea. This partnership focuses on making X86 platform servers in India.

The two companies signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to create a server business that aligns with India’s “Make in India” initiative. Compal will share its technology and support Kalyani in the production, assembly, testing, and sales of these servers.

“We are excited to partner with Kalyani Group. Compal is growing its server business and building various collaborations,” said Tony Bonadero, CEO of Compal. “With Kalyani’s strong presence in the Indian market, we believe this partnership will be beneficial. We see this as just the start, with more opportunities in the IT sector to come.”

“Working with Compal to produce servers in India will boost our manufacturing capabilities,” said Amit Kalyani, Vice Chairman of Bharat Forge. “We are thrilled and grateful for the confidence Compal has shown in us for this collaboration.”

Kalyani’s electronics division has also launched ‘Made in India’ servers from its modern facility in Pune, Maharashtra. This factory aims to support local businesses and play a significant role in boosting the region’s manufacturing industry.

Kalyani Group’s electronics division also manufactures components for electric vehicles, electric motorcycles, electric three-wheelers, and converts internal combustion engine vehicles into electric ones. Bharat Forge stands as one of India’s largest makers of automotive components and has expanded into various fields like defense, aerospace, and now information technology through Kalyani Powertrain.
