Legoland Revamps Entertainment Department: What the Recent Layoffs Mean for Future Fun

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. — Legoland Florida is facing tough times as it prepares for 234 permanent layoffs. Most of these job cuts will impact the entertainment department, which accounts for about 75% of the total layoffs.

The Florida Department of Economic Opportunity issued a notice about these layoffs, set to begin on March 25 and continue through April 7.

None of the affected employees are union members, according to the WARN notice.

A Legoland representative commented on the changes, saying, “At LEGOLAND Florida Resort, we are making adjustments to improve the guest experience for 2025 and beyond. This includes rethinking how we deliver entertainment.” They acknowledged that the decision to lay off staff was difficult but necessary to remain competitive.

Recently, Legoland Florida canceled its popular waterskiing show, demonstrating a shift in their entertainment offerings.

To assist those affected, Legoland is providing resources and job opportunities in Florida’s visitor attraction sector, including positions at the new SEA LIFE Florida at the Resort.
