BALTIMORE (AP) — Aaron Rodgers had a standout game with the Pittsburgh Steelers, throwing for 284 yards and a touchdown and also scoring a rushing touchdown. This led Pittsburgh to a 27-22 victory against the Baltimore Ravens, putting them at the top of the AFC North.
The game had a controversial moment late in the fourth quarter. Baltimore seemed to score a touchdown with Isaiah Likely catching a pass from Lamar Jackson. Initially ruled a touchdown, the call changed to incomplete after a review, leading to a turnover on downs for the Ravens.
Despite holding strong defensively, Baltimore struggled offensively, especially in the first half. They began the season poorly but had a five-game winning streak, only to suffer back-to-back losses against Cincinnati and Pittsburgh.
Rodgers made a huge impact, connecting with DK Metcalf for a 52-yard play that set up his rushing touchdown, marking his first since last season. His passes also included several long throws. Meanwhile, Jackson was intercepted in the first half and faced challenges throughout the game. He did manage a touchdown run before halftime but missed the extra point.
In a physical match, both teams lost players to injuries. The Steelers now prepare to host Miami next week, while the Ravens will head to Cincinnati.
Rodgers’s performance was notable given his struggles earlier in the season; he hadn’t completed a pass longer than 31 yards in November. This change highlights the importance of momentum in sports.
In terms of player health, a report from the NFL noted an increasing trend in concussions in recent seasons. This makes managing player safety critical as the league continues to prioritize minimizing these injuries.
