Indian Railways passengers traveling in May should be aware of significant changes. Due to essential work at Jaunpur Junction in Uttar Pradesh, over 40 trains, including the well-known Vande Bharat Express, will see route shifts and cancellations.

The Patna–Gomtinagar Vande Bharat Express, for instance, will run on a new path during May. The updated route is Jafarabad–Sultanpur–Ayodhya Cantt. Notably, it will not stop at Ayodhya Dham station for the duration of the changes.
Key Trains on Diverted Routes
Several important trains are also being rerouted. Here are a few:
- 04055 / 04056 – Ballia to Anand Vihar Special
- 15231 / 15232 – Barauni to Gondia Express
- 19051 / 19052 – Valsad to Muzaffarpur Express
Most affected trains will skip several stations, including Jaunpur and nearby stops like Mariahu and Janghai, making it essential for travelers to stay informed.
Cancelled Stops
The disruption means that certain stations will not have scheduled train stops:
- Jaunpur
- Jafarabad
- Mariahu
- Janghai
- Prayagraj Chheoki
Travelers should confirm their train status to avoid last-minute surprises.
Additional Changes
Some MEMU trains are also impacted. For example:
- 65101 & 65119 (Ghazipur City–Jaunpur) will now terminate at Muftiganj.
- 65102 & 65120 (Jaunpur–Ghazipur City) will start from Muftiganj.
