A local business in Penticton is making a big difference this March. Pacific Rim Equipment has launched a donation-matching campaign to support the Okanagan Similkameen Neurological Society (OSNS) Child and Youth Development Centre.
Throughout the month, they will match donations up to $5,000. This money will go to the Legacy Foundation, which helps children with developmental challenges in the area access specialized care. OSNS believes in providing this important support “today, tomorrow, and for generations to come.”
This campaign has special meaning for the Goodyear family. Mia and Isaac, along with their son Clark, have experienced firsthand the impact of OSNS. When they first came to the centre, Clark wasn’t speaking at all. Now, he can talk and make eye contact, which has been truly “life-changing” for them.
“From the very start, the OSNS team supported us in every way possible,” said Mia and Isaac. “They helped us find the right services for Clark, and it felt like we had finally found a place where he could really flourish.”
The Goodyear family originally hails from Alberta and journeyed through California before finally finding OSNS in Penticton. Clark began using the centre’s speech-language pathology services, which have significantly helped him express himself and develop new skills.
“We’ve seen him engage in new ways and grow beyond what we once thought was possible,” his parents shared. “OSNS has provided him with the tools and a safe environment to overcome challenges. We are so grateful for the positive changes in our family’s life.”
OSNS has been offering support to children and youth with developmental needs since 1978. This March, you can contribute to their cause. Every donation will help ensure that children like Clark receive the essential care they need for years to come.
To donate to the campaign, you can visit their website or stop by the centre at 103-550 Carmi Ave.
