MINNEAPOLIS — Some business owners in the area have noticed a drop in their sales. Many attribute this decline to President Trump’s immigration policies.

At the Midtown Global Market, Latino entrepreneurs express concern. They believe that fear among customers is affecting their business. Manny Gonzalez, who runs Manny’s Tortas, reports a 20% sales slump. “There has been a noticeable change,” he says. “It’s not just me; others are feeling it too.”

Jose Haro, the owner of El Taco Torro, shares a similar story. His sales have dropped by 25%. “The community is scared to go out due to everything happening,” he explains.

Notably, some Latinos who are legally present are also hesitant to visit local businesses. “We are a close community and we support each other,” Haro adds. “I worry about more than just my own business; it affects everyone here.”

Customers have also noticed the impact. Aaron Johnson, a regular at the market, said, “It’s heartbreaking to see businesses suffer like this.”
