In her new role, Imas will oversee the rAIder Initiative, a program designed to integrate applied AI tools across the university. She will also chair the campus AI Steering Committee.

With a strong background in biomedical digital signal processing and medical imaging, Imas brings valuable experience to the position. She has worked on advanced imaging applications in neurology, cardiology, and oncology. Additionally, she served as a product manager at GE Healthcare and is the founder of iBioTekk LLC, a consulting group for medical device and biotechnology companies.

Imas earned her Ph.D. in a joint program between Marquette University and the Medical College of Wisconsin in 2004, following a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering from MSOE.

According to Eric Baumgartner, MSOE’s executive vice president of academics, “We are thrilled to have Dr. Imas take on this pivotal role. Her experience in AI, both in academia and industry, makes her an ideal leader for our applied AI initiatives.”

As MSOE continues to innovate in education, Imas’s leadership aims to ensure the university stays at the forefront of AI integration.
