SAN BRUNO, Calif. – LMU’s women’s soccer players, Emma Gustad Myklebust and Callan Harrington, have received honors from the West Coast Conference, celebrating their successful 2024 season.
Myklebust earned WCC All-Academic Honors, highlighting her outstanding performance both on the field and in her studies. As a junior defender, she scored three goals while balancing a demanding engineering curriculum.
Alongside Myklebust, teammates Kylie Dobbs, Harrington, and Alice Zimmerman received honorable mentions for their academic achievements.
On the field, Harrington made her mark by earning All-WCC Second Team honors. The senior striker scored six goals and provided one assist in her first full season with the Lions, showing her skill in crucial moments. Over her two years at LMU, she has now scored a total of nine goals and two assists.
Junior goalkeeper JJ Hoover also received recognition, earning Honorable Mention All-Conference honors. She has maintained an impressive 1.51 goals against average, saving over 80% of the shots she faced. Her solid performance has made her a key player in the Lions’ defense.
This season’s success reflects not just individual talent but also the teamwork and dedication that drive the LMU women’s soccer program.
With more schools focusing on the balance between academics and athletics, the achievements of these players can inspire other student-athletes. It’s a reminder that hard work pays off, both in the classroom and on the field.
