The ongoing National Wrestling Championship in Gujranwala descended into chaos on Saturday after altercations between wrestlers spiraled into bodily brawls, involving staff officers and supporters within the crowd, forcing the suspension of matches for the day. The incident started with a minor dispute between Wapda’s Irfan Bhola and the Higher Education Commission’s Ibrahim over a referee’s resolution to award some extent to the previous. Footage of the melee on the Jinnah stadium on TV channels confirmed the 2 wrestlers arguing after the purpose was awarded and later they began grappling and punching one another.

In a couple of minutes gamers and officers of each groups had been seen going after one another because the brawls unfold between supporters as properly within the crowds with footage displaying punches and kicks being thrown freely.

An organizer mentioned safety needed to be known as in to manage the chaotic state of affairs and to keep away from any severe accidents to anybody.

“The matches are suspended and will resume later,” he mentioned.

Gujranwala is legendary for producing world class wrestlers and is called the town of Pehalwans.
