Netflix Cancels ‘The Recruit’ After 2 Thrilling Seasons: What Fans Need to Know

The Recruit will not be back for a third season on Netflix.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the spy drama starring Noah Centineo has been canceled after two seasons.

The show revolved around Owen Hendricks, played by Centineo. He was a CIA lawyer who got caught up in dangerous international disputes after an asset tried to reveal their connection to the agency.

Colton Dunn, who portrayed Lester Kitchens, expressed his disappointment about the show’s cancellation on Threads. He described it as “a bummer” and thanked the fans for watching. He joked about being available for new roles, inviting others to hire him for their TV projects.

In its second season, which premiered earlier this year, Hendricks found himself back in intense situations, this time in Seoul, South Korea. The season featured an impressive cast, including Dunn, Aarti Mann, Vondie Curtis-Hall, Fivel Stewart, Angel Parker, Kaylah Zander, and Teo Yoo.

Recently, Centineo shared his excitement about filming the second season, saying it was great to reconnect with the cast. He noted their strong bond, mentioning that they hang out off set, which fueled the energy in the new episodes. He highlighted how action-packed the season was, crediting Teo Yoo for bringing an extra spark to the series. Centineo also praised the vibrant backdrop of Korea, saying it added wonderful depth and color to the show.

Despite being among Netflix’s top 10 TV titles after its second season debut, the show’s cancellation came without clear reasons. Typically, renewals depend on various factors, including audience reception, creative direction, and financial considerations.
