Norway’s mixed ski jumping team put on an impressive show at the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup in Willingen, Germany. With standout performances from Thea Minyan Bjoerseth, Kristoffer Eriksen Sundal, Eirin Maria Kvandal, and Johann Andre Forgang, they dominated the competition.
After the first round, Norway already led by 31.3 points. They didn’t stop there; in the second round, they increased their lead to 39.4 points, finishing with a total of 1070.8 points from their eight jumps on the HS147 Mühlenkopfschanze hill.
Austria took second place with 1031.4 points, while the home team, Germany, claimed third with 988.8 points, cheered on by 7,000 enthusiastic fans.
The highest jump of the event came from Anze Lanisek of Slovenia, who scored an impressive 149.4 points. Bjoerseth also shone brightly, achieving the longest jump of the day at 145 meters during the first round.
“I’m very happy with the first run,” Bjoerseth said after the competition. “Everyone did a great job, and together we put on a strong performance.”
Earlier in the season, the first Mixed Team event took place in Lillehammer, Norway, where Germany won, followed by Norway in second place and Austria in third. With the recent results, Austria now leads the Nations Cup standings, followed by Germany and Norway.
