Penske Entertainment Steps Up as Nashville’s Premier Event Promoter: What This Means for Music Fans

Penske Entertainment is now in charge of promoting the NTT IndyCar Series season finale at Nashville Speedway.

This change follows Scott Borchetta’s Big Machine Music City GP team, which successfully organized the Nashville Grand Prix street race from 2021 to 2023. When construction for a new Tennessee Titans NFL stadium threatened to push the race out of its downtown spot in 2024, Borchetta struck a multi-year deal with Speedway Motorsports Inc. As a result, the final race of the season will now take place at the Nashville Superspeedway, a venue that had previously lost its IndyCar appeal.

Borchetta’s team made the event a success by planning exciting activities, such as a launch party in downtown Nashville and performances by major music acts from Big Machine Records. They invested significantly in promotions which helped boost ticket sales and contributed to one of the most thrilling oval races of the year.

Now, Penske Entertainment is stepping in to run the event while Borchetta remains as a sponsor. He will also host another downtown launch for the race scheduled for August 30-31 in Lebanon, Tennessee, which is a short drive from Nashville.

This shift shows how Penske Entertainment is taking more control over IndyCar’s 17 events. They already manage iconic races like the Long Beach Grand Prix, Indianapolis 500, and the Detroit Grand Prix. Additionally, they are involved in organizing future events, including the Arlington Grand Prix in 2026 and planning a long-awaited street race in Denver for 2027.

While Penske Entertainment has not made an official statement about this move, updates from the series are expected soon.
