PM Modi’s Vision for India’s Global Leadership: Key Highlights from His Speech in Nagpur on RSS Support

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Nagpur today to honor the founders of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and to lay the foundation for the Madhav Netralaya Premium Centre. During his speech, he praised the RSS for its century-long commitment to service and its influence on India’s role in global humanitarian efforts.

PM Modi reflected on how the RSS, founded in 1925, has evolved over time and contributes to the vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’ or Developed India. He expressed optimism about India’s future, stating that over the next year, the country will achieve significant milestones that lay the groundwork for progress over the next millennium.

He also highlighted India’s humanitarian leadership, citing Operation Brahma, which provided aid to Myanmar after a recent earthquake. This initiative demonstrates India’s willingness to help other nations during crises, a trend that includes previous assistance to Turkey, Nepal, and the Maldives. PM Modi remarked on India’s commitment to treating the world as one family, especially evident when India supplied COVID-19 vaccines globally.

The Prime Minister reiterated his government’s goal to move past India’s colonial history by reforming outdated laws and renaming significant places, such as changing Rajpath in Delhi to Kartavya Path. He acknowledged the renaming of islands in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands after notable national figures like Vinayak Savarkar and Subhas Chandra Bose.

Focusing on the youth, PM Modi recognized their essential role in nation-building. He referred to them as the “beacons of Viksit Bharat,” highlighting their involvement in the booming startup ecosystem, illustrating India’s growing influence worldwide.

Earlier in his visit, PM Modi paid his respects at the Hedgewar Smruti Mandir, a memorial dedicated to RSS founder Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar and second Sarsanghchalak M.S. Golwalkar. He shared that visiting this site was a deeply moving experience, reinforcing the connection to Indian culture and nationalism.

After this, he laid the foundation for the new Madhav Netralaya Premium Centre, which will enhance ophthalmic care with a 250-bed hospital and multiple specialized outpatient departments. PM Modi stressed the government’s commitment to providing quality healthcare to all, particularly those in need.
