Xiaomi’s spin-off brand, Poco, has teamed up with Bose to launch its new F8 series phones—F8 Pro and F8 Ultra. As smartphones flood the market, this collaboration aims to stand out by enhancing audio quality.
Both models come with dual stereo speakers, custom-tuned by Bose. However, only the Ultra model features a subwoofer, promising “deeper, more impactful bass.” Users can choose between two sound profiles: a Dynamic mode that boosts bass and a Balanced mode that highlights vocals for a better listening experience.
Nick Smith, Bose’s audio technology president, praised the collaboration, stating it combines Bose’s sound engineering with Poco’s design innovation, offering impressive audio clarity.
Apart from the sound features, the F8 series offers solid specifications. The F8 Ultra is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, has a large 6.9-inch OLED display, and boasts a triple 50-megapixel rear camera. The F8 Pro, while still impressive, uses the previous year’s chipset and has a smaller 6.59-inch display. Both phones are rated IP68 for water resistance and have batteries larger than 6,000mAh for long-lasting use.
In terms of pricing, the F8 Pro starts at $579, while the Ultra begins at $729, with an early bird discount of $50 available at launch. Poco also announced two affordable tablets, Pad X1 and Pad M1, both priced under $400, featuring high-resolution displays and Dolby Atmos speakers for enhanced entertainment value.
