Remembering Anne Burrell: Celebrated Chef and ‘Worst Cooks in America’ Host Leaves a Lasting Legacy at 55

Anne Burrell, the vibrant Food Network star known for her role on Worst Cooks in America, has sadly passed away at the age of 55. Her family confirmed the news, stating she died at her home in New York.

“Anne was a beloved wife, sister, daughter, stepmother, and friend,” her family shared. “Her smile lit up every room. Though she’s gone, her warmth and spirit will always remain with us.”

Burrell was widely recognized for her iconic spiky blonde hair and passionate personality. A representative from Food Network remarked, “Anne was not only a remarkable chef but also a gifted teacher. She loved showing everyone the joy that food can bring. Our hearts go out to her family and friends during this difficult time.”

Burrell’s culinary journey began on Iron Chef America, where she worked as a sous chef. She later hosted Secrets of a Restaurant Chef for nine successful seasons and appeared on several other shows like Chef Wanted, Chopped, and Food Network Star. Her latest project, House of Knives, debuted in March.

She married Stuart Claxton on October 16, 2021, and is survived by him, his son Javier, her mother Marlene, and sister Jane.
