Best known for her role on Rowan and Martin’s Laugh-In, Buzzi captivated audiences with her expressive face and comedic talents. The show, which aired in the late 1960s and early 70s, featured skits that often tackled serious social and political issues. One of her most memorable characters was Gladys Ormphby, a strict woman who often retaliated against misogyny with her handbag, earning her a spot as a feminist icon.

Buzzi’s career spanned six decades, during which she earned five Emmy nominations and even won a Golden Globe. She appeared in various TV shows, including Sesame Street and The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson, and was featured in films like the 2003 remake of Freaky Friday.

Born in Westerly, Rhode Island, and raised in Connecticut, Buzzi was a cheerleader in high school. She later studied at the Pasadena Playhouse, where she began her professional acting career in 1956. Her breakout moment came in 1964 on The Garry Moore Show.
