Running is a global craze, and Indonesia is no exception. People are becoming more health-conscious, and the excitement around running is growing. That’s where Runaddicts comes in. This digital platform aims to foster a vibrant running community and promote an active lifestyle.
Launched on August 25, 2025, at the Senayan City Forest Plateran in South Jakarta, Runaddicts drew runners from diverse backgrounds. The event featured notable figures like Novie Hernawati, a Six Star World Marathon Majors finisher, and specialists in running and health.
Novie shared that Runaddicts aspires to be the biggest running digital ecosystem in Indonesia. The platform connects runners with events, communities, and helpful resources, making it a one-stop-shop for both beginners and seasoned athletes. “We aim to educate and support runners at every level,” she stated.
Runaddicts offers various features, including a dedicated events section for everything from fun runs to marathons. They also partner with major running events like the Plataran Series, which takes place in several stunning locations across Indonesia.
Bagus, a passionate ultra marathoner, expressed his enthusiasm for Runaddicts. He highlighted the platform’s potential to cater to the evolving needs of runners and communities throughout Indonesia. “It’s great to see such a resource for runners,” he said.
Data security and server readiness are top priorities for Runaddicts. The platform is designed to handle thousands of users and events while providing a simple, user-friendly experience. In the future, they plan to incorporate AI for personalized training advice and event promotions.
This isn’t just another app; Runaddicts is unique in Indonesia for using AI to unite the running community. Octaviano Pratama, an AI lecturer, noted that the platform responds to the need for integrated services in running, including coaching, certifications, and wellness.
Runaddicts also offers online training modules accessible to users outside Jakarta. For instance, Lorensia from Lampung Runners appreciates the convenience it brings—participants can access nutrition consultations, workshops, and coaching from anywhere.
In addition, the platform provides training and certification programs for various roles, such as coaches and race directors. This is a crucial step towards professionalism and career development in the running world.
Runaddicts welcomes all communities, including corporations and universities, interested in organizing running events. Each community can establish a profile, connect with members, and even promote their own events. This feature helps aspiring organizers gain more visibility and impact.
The running community is more than just competition; it’s about connection and collaboration. With platforms like Runaddicts, runners across Indonesia can unite and grow, supported by a structure that values inclusivity and innovation.
