DK Metcalf, star wide receiver for the Seattle Seahawks, is looking for a trade after six seasons with the team. However, the Seahawks aren’t just going to let him go easily.

As reported by Dianna Russini from The Athletic, Seattle is asking for both a first-round and a third-round pick in exchange for Metcalf. That’s a big price tag, but many teams are likely interested. General manager John Schneider stated they are willing to wait for the right offer. If it doesn’t come, Metcalf could return for the last year of his contract.

“We’re in talks with a lot of teams, considering offers, and seeing where this goes,” Schneider said during a radio chat on KIRO-AM.

Schneider emphasized that while the team’s priority is finding what’s best for them, they want to consider Metcalf’s interests too. “We hope both sides align, but if not, we’re happy to have an amazing player like him with us in 2025,” he added.

The Seahawks weren’t thrilled with the timing of Metcalf’s request, especially since it coincided with the celebration of fellow receiver Tyler Lockett’s contributions to the team. Still, they see potential for a positive relationship with Metcalf moving forward, and they wouldn’t mind having him back next season, despite the trade demand.

At 27 years old, Metcalf has made a significant impact in his time in the NFL, racking up 438 catches for 6,324 yards and 48 touchdowns. His talent is undeniable, and the Seahawks know his worth.
