Seahawks Make Bold Move: Jalen Milroe Joins the Team as 92nd Overall Pick!

The Seahawks picked Jalen Milroe with the 92nd overall selection, bringing a talented quarterback to their team. At Alabama’s pro day, Milroe impressed everyone with a 4.4-second 40-yard dash. In 2023, he averaged 15.2 yards per completion, ranking seventh among FBS quarterbacks. He was a finalist for the Manning Award and had 23 touchdown passes against just six interceptions. He even earned the William V. Campbell Trophy, sometimes called the Academic Heisman, which honors top scholar-athletes.

Milroe’s rushing skills could make a significant impact at Seattle, especially under offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak, known for his work with Taysom Hill in New Orleans. However, Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald clarified that while Hill played multiple roles, Milroe is strictly a quarterback.

Seattle already has three quarterbacks with starting experience: Sam Darnold, Drew Lock, and Sam Howell. Milroe is aware of the competition. “I’m here to learn, grow, and bring positive energy to the offense,” he said. “I’ll find my niche, but I’m ready to compete.”

Though some expected Milroe to be drafted earlier, he isn’t concerned about the round he was picked in. “What matters is the chance I have to prove myself in Seattle,” he said. “Every draft class has its different stories, but I’m here because they believe in me. It’s all about opportunity.”

Regardless of when he was drafted, Milroe is confident in his abilities. “I can do everything on the field,” he stated. “Of course, I have areas to improve, but I know my strengths. I can throw from the pocket or on the run, and I’m ready to showcase that diversity in the NFL.”

With Milroe’s selection, he becomes just the third quarterback chosen by Seattle in 16 drafts under GM John Schneider, joining the ranks of Russell Wilson and Alex McGough.
