ELON, NC – North Carolina A&T’s Gavin Sentell pitched one of his best games of the season on Saturday at Elon University’s Latham Park. Despite his strong performance, the Aggies fell short, losing 2-1 to the Phoenix.

Sentell, a junior right-hander, logged 7 1/3 innings, allowing three hits, two runs, and striking out four. His crew initially gave him a 1-0 lead in the second inning thanks to a single from Andrew Tinsley and a groundout from Kristian Amaro. However, the game turned in the eighth when Jake Hajdu hit a crucial RBI double, sealing the win for Elon.

Elon’s pitcher, Nolan Straniero, also turned in an impressive showing. He completed the game, throwing 105 pitches and giving up just four hits while striking out seven. This victory marked Elon’s third straight win, pushing them to an even record of 8-9 in the Coastal Athletic Association.
