SpaceX’s upgraded Starship megarocket is stepping closer to its first launch. Scheduled for early to mid-May, this flight will be Starship’s 12th mission, but it’s particularly significant as it marks the debut of Version 3, which boasts greater size and power.
Recently, SpaceX successfully conducted a static-fire test with Starship V3. This test involved igniting its engines while the rocket remained secured on the launch pad. It’s an important step, showing that the vehicle is ready for the next phase of testing.
Starship V3 stands at an impressive 408.1 feet (124.4 meters), slightly taller than its predecessor. What sets it apart is its enhanced propulsion system, built with new V3 Raptor engines.
