Belmont University has just announced its Dean’s List for spring 2025. An impressive 47% of the 6,912 undergraduate students made the cut, including Samantha Stockard from Manchester.
Dr. David Gregory, the Provost and Executive Vice President at Belmont, praised these students for their hard work and discipline. “Achieving Dean’s List status shows exceptional balance and commitment,” he stated. He emphasized that these students embody the spirit of Belmont through their dedication to learning and supporting one another.
To qualify for the Dean’s List, students must complete a minimum of 12 credit hours and maintain a GPA of at least 3.5, avoiding any grade below a C.
Located just two miles from downtown Nashville, Belmont University has nearly 9,000 students from across the U.S. and 33 countries. It’s known for its innovative programs and has consistently ranked high in U.S. News & World Report. The university offers over 115 undergraduate programs, alongside 41 master’s degrees and five doctoral programs.
Interestingly, recent trends in higher education highlight the growing importance of academic recognition. According to a 2023 survey by the National Student Clearinghouse, more students than ever are striving for honors like the Dean’s List, as it can significantly boost their resumes.
This commitment to excellence resonates deeply in today’s competitive job market, where employers increasingly value academic achievements. As Dr. Gregory noted, this balance of high academic standards and personal growth is vital for today’s students, preparing them for future challenges.
